Pay Your Bills with Crypto

Using BitPay to pay bills with crypto is quick, secure and easy. Simply download the BitPay app, automatically connect your bills, select your payment preferences and make payments. You can also pay your bills right from your browser by logging in and navigating to the Bill Pay tab of your personal dashboard. BitPay uses your cryptocurrency payment to settle accounts for you without banks, wires or complicated conversion processes.

You can pay practically any bill with crypto using the BitPay app. From mortgages and credit card bills to car payments and student loans, pay hundreds of service providers directly from your crypto wallet. Automatically find existing bills using basic info and pay them with crypto. Some billing merchants do not currently share account information, making these bills unavailable within the BitPay app.

BitPay gives you the power to pay bills with over 100 of the most popular cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), USDC (USDC), Polygon (MATIC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shiba Inu Coin (SHIB), XRP (XRP), and dozens more. Bill Pay is accessible from within the BitPay Wallet app and on the BitPay website. Bills can be paid with the BitPay Wallet or 100+ other compatible wallets. The BitPay app is a self-custody wallet solution, meaning you can import any other self-custody wallet/key using your 12 or 24 word seed phrase. The BitPay app is compatible with self-custody wallets created in other popular apps including Exodus, Trust Wallet, Electrum, Blockchain Wallet, MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet and hundreds more. Once your seed phrase is imported, funds from these wallets can be used to pay bills with crypto within the BitPay app. If you’d like to pay your bills using another wallet app, you can log in to bitpay.com and navigate to the Bill Pay tab. Once you’ve connected your bills, an invoice will be generated which can be paid using your alternative wallet app.

Download the BitPay app to get started. Next, create or import a new wallet. If creating a new wallet, fund the wallet by buying crypto or sending crypto from another wallet. Tap the “Pay” tab and select “Bills”. You’ll be prompted to create a BitPay ID. BitPay uses your basic information to confirm your identity and automatically find and organize your bills. This process takes less than 5 minutes. Then, you can prompt BitPay to automatically find existing bills. Your bills will appear with important details like due date and balance. Select the bills you wish to pay with crypto. Choose the wallet and cryptocurrency you’d like to use. Finally, review and confirm the payment details.

Bills can also be paid via the BitPay website. First create a BitPay account or log into the BitPay website using your BitPay account. Then navigate to the Bill Pay tab of the personal dashboard. Currently, only US residents in the following states can use BitPay to pay bills with crypto: Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington.
