Our bank partner and BitPay have decided to discontinue the current BitPay Prepaid Mastercard program. This decision impacts your current card, including your ability to load and use the card.
Later this year, we will launch a new BitPay card program with a new bank partner. We will share additional details regarding the new card program, including new features, shortly. These changes will require a short transition period in which your current card will become inactive. As a cardholder, you will automatically be enrolled on the waitlist for the new program.
To be sure that the closure of your card is as convenient for you as possible, please note the following important notices and dates:
- Immediately cancel any recurring payments using your card
- The last day to add funds to your card will be June 1st, 2023
- The last day to spend with your card or access an ATM with your card will be June 15th, 2023
We encourage you to spend as much of your balance as possible by June 15, 2023. As of June 30th, 2023, any remaining balances on your card will be sent via check to the current physical address associated with your BitPay Card within 30 days. If you have changed addresses since your initial enrollment or to confirm the address where the check will be mailed, visit the Personal Dashboard online at BitPay.com or call 1-855-398-1373 to update as soon as possible. We are available Monday through Sunday from 10 AM to 8 PM ET.

When does the current BitPay Card program end?
BitPay will stop accepting new cardholder applications immediately. Cardholder spending activity will end on June 15th, 2023.
When can I no longer use the BitPay Card?
The last day to spend with your card or access an ATM with your card will be June 15th, 2023.
When can I no longer load funds onto the BitPay Card?
The last day to add funds to your card will be June 1st, 2023. We encourage you to spend as much of your balance as possible by June 15, 2023.
What happens to my balance at the end of the program? How do I get my money?
Funds held on the BitPay Card at the program's close will not be lost and you will remain in control of your funds leading up to June 15th, 2023.
As of June 30th, 2023, any remaining balances on your card will be sent via check to the current physical address associated with your BitPay Card within 30 days. If you have changed addresses since your initial enrollment or to confirm the address where the check will be mailed, visit the Personal Dashboard online at BitPay.com or call 1-855-398-1373 to update as soon as possible. During the 15 day period between June 15th and June 30th, remaining balances will be temporarily inaccessible until they are dispersed via physical check. We encourage you to spend as much of your balance as possible by June 15, 2023.
