Yes, you can use your BitPay Prepaid Visa® Card for credit transactions wherever Visa® credit cards are accepted.
To do this, select the "credit" option as your payment method at checkout and sign instead of entering your PIN when using the card at any point-of-sale device.
If you don't see a "credit" option on the point-of-sale device, you can always ask the cashier how to run the transaction as credit and they will assist you.
If you attempted to make a credit transaction at a hotel, gas pump, rental agency, or restaurant, a temporary hold may appear that is greater than the amount you intended to spend. Once the merchant settles the transaction the unspent funds from the held transaction will be added back into your account balance.
Using your PIN number at the pump is the most convenient method. If you want to use a credit transaction to pay, be sure to pay inside the gas station at the counter.
If you decide to select "credit" at the pump a $100 hold will appear on your card until the credit transaction settles the next day for a lesser amount.
We strongly recommend that you never let another person use your card. Your card is protected by your PIN and your signature, so you will be responsible for any transactions that take place.
You check your balance and review your transactions in your cardholder account at https://bitpay.com/card/login or by calling 1-855-884-7568.
To generate a new PIN for your BitPay Prepaid Visa® Card, please call 1-855-884-7568 and provide your card number, CVV, and year of birth. The Change PIN option is the third option in the main menu.

Remember that your card is not linked to your personal bank account or other financial accounts, so thieves cannot compromise your identity or access any funds.
Please review your Cardholder Agreement for more information on your protections.
By default the BitPay Prepaid Visa® Card includes the standard protections offered by its issuing bank. For more information, see your Cardholder Agreement.
