From Copay's beginning, we've aimed to use the open source community's feedback to make our bitcoin wallet substantially better in every new version.
Copay 1.3.1 has several new features that bitcoin users can get excited about. Here's what you need to know about what's coming to your wallet in this new update:
Sweep Paper Wallet Funds
If you store private keys and funds with any standard or BIP 38 encrypted paper wallets, you can now sweep them directly into a Copay wallet.
Use Touch ID To Secure Your Transactions
TouchID has gained popularity as a simple and secure way to sign into applications. If you're using an iPhone 6 device, you can now use TouchID in place of a password to sign off on every transaction you make in Copay.
Buy and Sell Bitcoin With Glidera
We've worked with bitcoin exchange Glidera to allow Copay users in 11 US states to buy or sell bitcoin within the app. Users in an additional 8 US states will have purchase-only access.
Even though Glidera is still in beta, we couldn't wait to share this integration with the Copay community. Today we're launching a Twitter campaign to distribute special beta invite codes to our most hardcore users.
UPDATE, 12/2/15: Copay users in all supported US states and all Canadian province except Quebec can now sign up for Glidera in-app without invite codes. Just follow the signup flow from the app to your browser of choice to complete the registration process.
If you're in one of the US states that support Glidera, tweet with #UseCopay and tag @BitPay to tell us how you use the app. We'll be giving advance buy and sell access to tweets and users with the most creative and practical applications. Whether you're contributing to a shared wallet for your family's vacation funds or using multiple keys to protect your savings, we want to hear from you.
We're also looking out for feedback so we can continue to improve Copay for future versions. If you contribute useful code or give helpful feedback to our team on GitHub or Copay's BitPay Labs forum, we may be reaching out to give you early Glidera access.
Remember, you'll only be able to use Glidera if you live in one of the following states: (buy and sell) CA, NC, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, MO, MT, MN, SC, TX; (buy only) AZ, CO, DE, ME, NJ, PA, TN, UT.
UPDATE, 3/14/16: Copay users in all of the above states can now both buy and sell bitcoin. WI and NV users can also buy and sell bitcoin with Glidera.
To get started with all of the new features in Copay 1.3.1, you can download the app and find updates for every platform on copay.io.
